Vertigo Vintage

First off, massive apologies my recent lack of posting, I've been moving house which has meant no internet!! A couple of weeks ago I styled a shoot for Vertigo Vintage, an amazing vintage store in the Dublin area! Vertigo Vintage is truly unique, offering a one to one shopping experience with Vintage Vixen Maeve Brady! Maeve, who hand picks Vertigo VIntage's entire collection, will personally come to your home to help you find the perfect piece to add to your wardrobe. I was lucky enough to work with some of the best Ireland has to offer for the shoot. Up and coming Irish photographer Jason McCarthy (you can find more of his work on facebook and tumblr) captured some beautiful moments. While Hair and Make Up on the day was left in the very capable hand of the amazing Aislinn Trodden of Buddha Head, Drogheda. Aislinn has been hairdressing since she was 16 and is a brand ambassador for TIGI Ireland! Cant finish off with out a special mention to our stunning model, Emily!Who happily hopped over ditch's and changed in a cow shed and above all rocked it on the day! Enjoy DSS xx

Katie Grands Arachnophobia

The formidable fashion powerhouse that is Katie Grand has unleashed her vision in a dynamic and slightly spooky editorial for the Febuary 2012 issue of Love magazine. The editorial, aptly entitled The Origin of Monsters, was a collaboration Tim Walker and feature the queen of androgyny, Kristen McMenamy.

Style Stalker-Ruth

Ruth was one of many girls to stop by my rail on Saturday at the Closet Clear Out to pick up some bits and pieces. I loved her just thrown together look! Her outfit choice was comfortable, practical as well as stylish. Her oversized vintage cardi is perfect for wrapping up on a chilly march morning, teamed with super cute lace shorts and vans makes it the perfect outfit for wandering round the city doing a spot of shopping. Her fab oversized silver handbag made a very chic shopping bag, perfect for carting home all her lovely new purchases.

Style Stalker: Sarah

Sarah was one of many lovely ladies selling her pre-loved clothes at Saturday's Closet Clear Out in Andrews Lane Theater. Now I'm a sucker for a top knot and some lippy so I just had to take a quick snap of her look! Dressed head to toe in black, Sarah added a subtle splash of colour with hot pink cuffs on her beautiful cropped leather jacket. And for an extra kick of colour she matched her lips in a similarly lovely shade of pink. Her lace paneled maxi was "years old" but is a wardrobe staple, easy to wear, can be styled in so many ways and above all comfy for a long days selling! Love it

Milla Jovovich-Flawless

Simply stunning, my favourite look of the night by a long shot the Resident Evil star turn Oscar presenter wowed in a stunning white bejeweled one shoulder Elie Saab Couture gown.Words can not describe how perfect I think this dress is on her. Her simple tousled hair and vibrant red lip won me over. Love.

Michelle Williams-WOW

She always hits the nail on the head and the 84th Acadamy Awards were no different for Michelle Williams. Looking nothing short of breath taking in a coral tiered peplum dress by Louis Vuitton there was no doubt that she would be topping all the best dressed lists this morning. There was lots of detail in to the dress and I love the fact the she choose to keep it simple by accessorising with only a simple short necklace. But my favourite thing about her look, the colour! Usually one to play it safe in blacks and creams I love the beautiful vibrant coral colour,  looks simply stunning up against her porcelain skin.

Angie-put your leg away

As stunning and fabulous as Ms Anglelina Jolie is I cant help feel she disappointed in her display at last nights 84th annual Oscar's.Turns out that you can "Work it" too much. Dressed in a beautiful velvet Atelier Versace number, black of course, Angie wasn't her usual flawless self. To start with the strapless gown swamped her tiny frame and was particularly ill fitting around the bust and waist and then of course there was the dresses sexy thigh high slit, but of course you noticed that, because she stuck her bony limb out in EVERY picture! Now don't get me wrong the dress is amazing and the slit is super sexy but poor Angie just looks ridiculous and awkward with her gangly leg stuck out at weird angles.Perhaps try a more natural pose next time.

Tilda Swinton- 2012 Bafta's

Just had to give Tilda Swinton a mention for, as usual being the real fashion hero at the Bafta awards last night. Tilda is never afraid to try something a bit different and last night she donned this unbelievably cool Celine dress. There was nothing particularly eye catching about the two piece dress with its understated contrast panel its more to do with the fact that Tilda always chooses cool directional pieces for her red carpet outting's and always manages to own it! Not only that but she manages to avoid the dreaded bride syndrome which can so often go hand in hand with a white dress.Way to go Ms Swinton

Bafta Beauties

With all the excitement of the Grammy's last night the Bafta's were slightly over looked! There was still tonnes of red carpet glamour on display however with some of the world leading ladies strutting their stuff on the red carpet!!
Christina Ricci made one hell of a statement on the red carpet when she arrived in this eye catching gold Givency Couture dress. The simple wrap style dress was given a glamourous twist in this rich gold colour. Hair and make up were kept super simple with blunt bangs and stunning crimson lips with a little bling bling to finish off the look. One of my favourite looks of the night, Ms Ricci doesn't disappoint.

Another winner in the style stakes at last nights Bafta's was Best Actress Nominee, Michelle Williams, she astonished the crowds her her simple and stunning strapless black and white column gown. Her sophisticated look grabbed the attention of the audience and everyone was dying to know which design house had created her incredible gown, the answer, H&M! Yep that's right, Michelle's stunning and much talked dress about was from none other than Swedish highstreet retailer H&M! Beautiful!

Gorgeous Grammy's-Lykke Li

I'm usually a massive fan of Lykke Li, but this time round the Swedish singer/songwriter did little to impress. If you've seen her music videos or listened to her lyrics her super sophisticated look probably surprises you as much as it does me! I'm not saying she should go all Lady Gaga on us or anything but this is just a lil to bland for my liking. Good brows though!

Gorgeous Grammy's-Jessie J

Hmmmm, not my favourite look of the night but in comparision to some of her previous award show ensembles Jessie J doesn't look to bad. If you can look past the shiny disco ball element this Julien MacDonald number is actually quite pretty. For once Ms J kept the hair and make up simple and let her dress do the talking! Not quite perfect but definitely a step in the right direction! Bravo

Gorgeous Grammy's-Adele

Adele? Is that you? I almost didn't recognise you there, what with your newly svelte figure.A potent red pout and pin up blonde bombshell curls topped off a shimmering Armani gown ensure Adele packed a powerful red carpet punch. WOW

Gorgeous Grammy's-Kelly

Kelly O at the 2012 Grammy Awards
Love it or hate it the lilac hair is here to stay and last night Ms O complimented it perfectly with this gorgeous Tony Ward number. Kelly looked practically perfect in the shimmering one shouldered creation. It was quite simply red carpet magic.

Gorgeous Grammy's-Katy

Katy Perry in Elie Saab
Katy's on Stage Style
See what your missing now Russel! I doubt even Disney could of dreamed up a more perfect look for the kitsch princess of pop Katy Perry for last nights Grammy Awards. Wearing a stunning Elie Saab Couture dress Ms Perry looked like a modern day Cinderella in her beautiful blue dress and her perfectly matched saturated locks! Oh delightfully convenient!

As for on stage, Katy appeared to take a dig at her now ex hubbie, Russell Brand as she debuted her new single "Part of Me". As if singing “You can keep the diamond ring. It don’t mean nothing anyway. In fact you can keep everything. Yeah, yeah, except for me.” wasn't bad enough for Mr Brand, how hot did Katy look in her skin tight PVC number!

Gorgeous Grammy's-Rihanna

Rihanna showcased her super sexy, super skinny new look at last night Grammy Awards, wearing a custom made black Armani dress the super star oozed sex appeal and looked both simple and stunning, not to over the the not to bland. In the words of Goldilocks, she was juuuuuuuust right!
And speaking of Goldilocks, I was unsure about her new blonde locks at first but with her sexy waves and understated makeup she's won me over as usual!

My only criticism of the always fabulous RiRi is that she's looking a lil on the scrawny side perhaps!! Get your booty back gurl!!
